International electricity generation company is looking for its future Engineering & Operations Senior Manager.

The main responsibilities of this position are:

To support plants in forced, unplanned and planned Unit Outages and perform Outage Readiness Assessments for the site teams as required by the company Outage Management ProgramTo support negotiation and development of O&M long term equipment maintenance service type contracts, including major equipment LTSATo support the O&M staff at each facility on the Excel modeling of variable payment type long term service agreementsTo support the review and development of full project life cycle O&M budgets, including all major maintenance, fixed, variable and capital cost estimatesTo provide O&M cost estimating for projects which may include statistical analysis of the reliability and availability of both power generation and gas compressionTo support the plants through the administration of the following applications: ROMS, CapEx and MOCTo support the plants by leading or collaborating on RCA investigations and reporting as required by the operating fleetTo be flexible and respond to the operating plants to assist in achieving the Company's yearly performance targetsTo perform other tasks as required to support plant operations and corporate growth initiativesTo provide technical support and guidance to project business development teams during Greenfield development and execution activitiesTo provide technical support and guidance to project business development teams for potential acquisition opportunitiesTo works with the business development team(s) to ensure all Engineering and Operations factors are adequately analyzed and represented in the project deal for internal approvalsTo review of estimates of probable project EPC costs and Owner's Project Management costs for project modeling purposesTo identify, recommendation for mitigation & management of all technical risks related to Greenfield or acquisition projectsTo develop and builds relationships with industry contacts and vendors; carrying out due diligence as required in line with compliance requirementsTo liaise with the company O&E management resources to ensure that operating costs are correctly estimated for
model purposesTo liaise with the company HSSE management to evaluate and implement activities and external resources (when required) to ensure that environmental guidelines, permitting and social issues are adequately considered during project developmentTo liaise with the company HR management to ensure that organizational structure & people costs are correctly estimated for model purposesTo provide & to validate technical inputs into greenfield or acquisition project modelsTo support BD to ensure commercial viability of each project from an engineering, operations and maintenance perspectiveTo manage outside technical consultants and engineers contracted to provide services as resources to project team


Minimum BS/MS degree or substantial equivalent technical training and prior extensive experience in project engineering, development and management

A minimum of 10 years of direct engineering experience in the operation of power projects; with and emphasis on project management; ideally with some experience in the origination, development and completion of power projects

More specifically, the required experience and skill set will include combined cycle gas turbine power plants as primary project type, and hydro, wind and solar generating facilities as secondary project type

Must have a good understanding of Long Term Service Contracts / O&M Contracts and contracting in general

Must be experienced in day to day plant budget development, management and control along with annual budgeting processes and procedures

Knowledge and familiarity with EPC contract terms and conditions, interrelationships of risks with respect to Owner vs. Contractor risks and participation in the negotiation of EPC contracts

Knowledge and familiarity with the critical aspects of major project agreements such as Power Purchase, Fuel Supply and related project agreements and their interrelationships to each other and EPC agreements

Fluent in writing, speaking and reading both English and Spanish languages
